Cam Young Said F this Driver!
Cameron Young's Sunday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was a real bummer for his driver. Fresh off a red-hot 59 at the Travelers, Young was in the mix again, just a shot behind Akshay Bhatia and Cam Davis through 13 holes. But his driver? It was more lost than a golf ball in a ball washer, finding only three of 10 fairways.
Then came the meltdown. On the 14th tee, after another hook, Young decided his driver needed a time-out. He leaned against it into the ground and SNAP! It was like watching a temper tantrum at a mini-golf course. CBS's Trevor Immelman shouted, "OHHH! I think he just cracked the shaft!" Sure enough, the driver was toast.
Rules are rules though: no replacing a club you break in a fit. So, Young trudged on driverless for the final stretch. He managed a par on 14 but then limped home with bogey-par-bogey, missing crucial putts on 16 and 17. He finished T6, three shots behind Davis, still hunting for his first PGA Tour win after seven runner-ups. That’s the most such finishes without a win on the Tour since 1983.
It’s like he’s the Leonardo DiCaprio of golf, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Although, DiCaprio eventually won an Oscar, so there is hope for Cameron Young.

Cam Davis' Hypnotic Win & Bhatia's Heartbreak
Cam Davis, you know, that Aussie bloke, snagged his second win at Detroit's Rocket Mortgage Classic and it was actually an exciting finish.
So, it's Sunday, and Cam Davis grinded out a solid 2-under 70. He was neck and neck with this young gun, Akshay Bhatia all day. On the final hole, Bhatia three-putts from 32 feet, handing Davis the win by one shot. I mean, talk about a nail-biter! Cam Davis even said he felt bad for Bhatia but was stoked about his own comeback.
Cam has been working with a hypnotherapist, trying to get his mojo back after a rough few months. And bam! He nails it.
Meanwhile, Bhatia was having a rough day which was evident on 18. He missed a crucial 4-foot par putt. Dude’s nerves got the best of him. He admitted, "I'm human," after all. Davis, though, pulled ahead with a birdie on the 17th, while Bhatia faltered.
It was Davis' day to shine, becoming the first two-time winner since the tournament started in 2019.
Nick Dunlap With a Hell of a Shot! You gotta watch this:
Nick found himself in a peculiar spot Saturday after an errant 2nd shot on the par 4 2nd hole. He had a blind pitch shot over some bushes that look to be around 8 to 10 feet tall leaving him no visibility whatsoever to the pin, yet he manages to hit the green and sink the par putt!

Name that golfer!
There are up to 220 golfers on the PGA tour, we'll give you some hints about a current player and your objective is to guess the golfer in as few hints as possible.
Hint 1: He earned the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award in 2019.
Hint 2: He also earned a spot on Ernie Els' 2019 Presidents Cup team in which he won 3 matches, halved one, and lost one in a very impressive display.
Hint 3: He never uses a ball with the number 4 on it because in South Korea, the number represents death.
Hint 4: He loves his food and has no desire to change his diet to give himself an extra edge in the modern game. His favorite dish is Jeju Black Pig and whilst travelling around the United States he regularly searches for Korean restaurants.

2024 John Deere Classic:
Where the Stars Won't Shine but New Ones Might
Calling all golf fans—well, at least those who have nothing better to do this weekend! The PGA Tour is rolling into Silvis, Illinois, for the John Deere Classic. Don't expect to see the likes of Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy, though. This event is like the minor leagues of golf, where the big names are few and far between.
Remember Jordan Spieth's meteoric rise in 2012? Or Bryson DeChambeau's breakthrough in 2017 before he became a YouTube star and two-time U.S. Open champ? They both cut their teeth right here. So, while you're not going to see the heavyweights, you might witness the birth of a future superstar.
Who's showing up this year? Well, not many big shots, to be honest. We've got No. 24 Sepp Straka, the defending champ; No. 27 Jason Day; and No. 28 Sungjae Im. Two-time winner Jordan Spieth is lurking just outside the top 30 at No. 32. And guess what? Patrick Cantlay, No. 8 in the world, decided to sit this one out. Shocking, right?
TPC Deere Run is a birdie-fest playground, with winning scores often diving below 20-under. So, if you're into watching underdogs rise, or you just need something to fall asleep to, tune in. Who knows? You might catch the next Spieth or DeChambeau before they hit the big time.
