Xander Schauffele Then vs. Now
Alright, golf fans, let's dive into the evolution of Xander Schauffele's golf bag from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to the 2024 Paris Games. Four years is a lifetime in golf tech, and Schauffele’s bag reflects that. Here’s the rundown:
Driver: 2020 vs. 2024
In 2021, Xander trusted a 9-degree Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond driver. Fast forward to 2024, he’s swinging a 10.5-degree Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond. He’s driving the ball 305.7 yards on average, ranking 37th on the PGA Tour.
3-Wood: 2020 vs. 2024
Xander swapped his Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond 3-wood for a higher-lofted Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond 3HL. This change helps him get more lift and control.
Utility Clubs: 2020 vs. 2024
Goodbye 7-wood, hello versatility! Depending on the course, Schauffele now switches between a Mizuno MP-20 driving iron and a Callaway Apex UW 23-degree club. He adapts like a chameleon.
Irons: 2020 vs. 2024
Xander sticks with Callaway Apex TCB irons but has updated to the latest model. He’s still rocking that raw finish, which shows some wear but performs like a charm. Fun fact: His pitching wedge is now branded as a “10-iron.”
Wedges: 2020 vs. 2024
Wedges are Xander’s most frequently swapped clubs. In 2024, he’s using a Callaway Opus 52-degree and two Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges (56 and 60 degrees). These changes keep his short game razor-sharp.
Putter: 2020 vs. 2024
The putter’s still a red No. 7 CH mallet, but now it’s an Odyssey Toulon Design Las Vegas No. 7 CH Prototype. The new black diamond groove milling pattern on the face is the biggest upgrade.
Can Schauffele keep his incredible 2024 season rolling with another medal at the Paris Olympics? Tune in on Thursday to find out!

Longer
- Unlike most carbon fiber shafts, Newton Motion shafts flex over the entire length of the shaft … from ‘grip to tip’. Their proprietary Kinetic Energy Storage system allows energy created during the golf swing to be stored more efficiently and then released in a more controlled, stable manner through impact. This creates more swing speed & distance.
Straighter
- Newton's Symmetry 360 design virtually eliminates any spine and ensures consistency from shot to shot. This is especially important with drivers and fairway woods that provide loft and lie adjustability. Newton Motion shafts flex identically no matter what clocking position the club is set.
Ready to Play
- All Newton Motion shafts are available with adjustable driver and fairway wood adapters to fit heads offered by Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, PING, PXG, TaylorMade, Titleist and Tour Edge. Jhonattan Vegas Clinches Victory at 3M Open
Jhonattan Vegas ended a nearly seven-year winless streak by clinching a one-shot victory over Max Greyserman at the 3M Open. Vegas, who finished at 17-under 267 at the windy TPC Twin Cities, secured his fourth PGA Tour win and his first since winning the Canadian Open in 2017. Reflecting on his victory, Vegas said, "We’re just trying to have a great week and obviously a great week turned into a win. I’m out of my head right now, so it’s incredible."
The win wasn't without challenges. After a lengthy 11-minute wait on the tee box at the 598-yard, par-5 final hole, Vegas hit an ideal drive. Another delay followed, and he pulled his 7-iron approach to the far left corner of the green, leaving a daunting 96-foot putt. Demonstrating nerves of steel, Vegas, who didn't three-putt all week, perfectly paced his eagle attempt to set up the short birdie putt that secured his win.
Playing on a major medical extension after right elbow and shoulder surgeries limited him to seven starts last season, Vegas felt the shoulder pain immediately. "I felt (the shoulder) right away on the first hole," he admitted. "It was a nightmare, but luckily stayed calm and I was able to play pretty solid and not make huge mistakes." Despite the pain, Vegas managed to stay composed and focused, turning in a performance that eased any lingering discomfort. "Nothing feels better than this," he added.
Vegas moved into 67th in the FedEx Cup standings and in position for the PGA Tour playoffs, which begin in three weeks. See the updated top 70 who are currently slated to make the playoffs.
